Sex Pistols Might Record Second Album

There is no denying that the 1977 release of ‘Forget the Bullocks, Here Comes the Sex Pistols’ has a place in Punk history, but is the world ready for a second Sex Pistols release after 31 years?

Johnny Rotten, born John Lydon, told reporters at London’s Telegraph newspaper that him and the band were considering recording a second album. The news comes shortly after their live performance Isle of Wight festival this past weekend.

After a very short lived stance with record company E.M.I., who released the band’s only album, the Sex Pistols signed with A&M Records. After only six days on the label, they were dropped due to major differences with the label and the band. Prior to leaving A&M, they recorded their legendary single ”God Save the Queen”. A&M ordered the product to be destroyed, releasing only a handful of albums to select label employees. Later signing with Virgin, the Sex Pistols famous single was released to the public and remains one of their most well known tracks. In the last three decades, the Sex Pistols have released numerous singles and compilations.

After such an incredibly long time of not recording new music, is the band ready to jump back into the studio? Lydon admits that they are unsure of this, saying “There could be a new record. That would be nice. But I won't do anything in a patronizing way. The music, the subject and the attitude all have to be right at the same time. Everything has to be from the heart."

Meanwhile, Lydon is involved in a lawsuit in which a female assistant from the Battle of the Bands TV Show alleges that the singer punched her during an argument about a hotel room. Roxane Davis, who was responsible for hotel and accommodations for dear ole Johnny during the show, says he went crazy, calling her several demeaning names and eventually hitting her in the face, all over not having connecting doors between his hotel room and the room of his personal assistant, Rambo. (Oh yeah, that’s correct, Rambo).
